Charlie Brown and his friends now adorn the Borgward bags. The Bremen-based luxury bag manufacturing workshop has managed to win over the global PEANUTS brand for its Limited Edition. On 18 September, Borgward presented its PEANUTS edition to the public in Bremen, with the sympathetically genuine characters around Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Peppermint Patty.
Designer Petra Borgward explains why the choice of cooperation partner fell on the PEANUTS: “The PEANUTS are timeless characters that could not be more iconic and influential since they have entered into our lives.” The entrepreneur goes on to say that this is a perfect match with the Borgward brand, as both focus on the diversity of the characters involved. “We look forward to working with the Borgward team” says Tara Botwick, Senior Director International Territory Management, EMEA at Peanuts Worldwide. “Borgward’s classic products are leather items manufactured with top-quality craftsmanship, and which stand especially for durability. This is precisely what makes them a perfect match with Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the PEANUTS gang, who have also delighted their fans for decades.”
It was Unique Pieces from Hamburg that had implemented the cooperation in terms of craftsmanship and artistic design – a company that has already worked together with brands like MCM, Nike and badmómzjay. “Borgward is famous for its Unique Pieces and perfection as regards both workmanship and manufacture,” Martin Olomi from Unique Pieces tells us. His business partner Dennis Vollstedt explains the connection with Borgward: “We love the dedication to detail and to their always going the extra mile. These are unique pieces within which every aspect is considered as an individual element of the piece of art as a whole.”
Airbrushes bring to life the famous comic stars on nude-coloured, finest embossed calfskin manufactured in Germany. Unique Pieces, the streetwear customization label, actually originates from the sneaker custom fashion sector. Non-conformist fresh ideas constitute the cornerstone for this lively collaboration of hip-hop and high-fashion design. That’s why the usual standards like printing were dispensed with and new impulses and standards were set through piece-by-piece airbrush application onto the ready-manufactured bags.
