The Bremen luxury leather bag manufacturer opens its own showroom at List on Sylt. Starting in April, Petra Borgward will be personally advising customers at Borgward Brandnest and presenting her collections.
On 9 April, the latest Borgward showroom, the Borgward Brandnest,
officially opens its doors to visitors at Listlandstraße 21, at List on Sylt. In future, designer Petra Borgward will be advising customers personally on the purchase of their bags – here from Thursday afternoon to Sunday, as well as by appointment.
“When I saw the premises for our latest Borgward Brandnest for the first time, it was immediately clear to me that we could create something special here,” says Petra Borgward enthusiastically, speaking from the new showroom. At its location directly in the centre of List, customers can now try on or test Borgward’s luxury products.
“Our designs are timeless, independent of the season, and authentic, and our products are something for every day and every occasion, but always something special. A bit like Sylt itself,” the designer says confidently: “Borgward and Sylt: these are two myths that match one another quite well.”
The designer and entrepreneur, Petra Borgward, explains how the decision to go to Sylt came about: “We are simply finding out more and more that most of our customers quite deliberately and really in their hearts want to be personally advised. The pandemic has reinforced this need for closeness and authenticity. Being able to touch our bags, feel the material and be in conversation – these are the important things.” Until now, this was only possible at the Bremen location and at the establishments of selected, exclusive dealers.
“At the same time, we deliberately invested in our online shop – because this is also an important part of the shopping experience of the future. For the live experience of our products and their look & feel, places like the Borgward Brandnest here on Sylt are predestined.” Borgward explains the reasons for this.
All branches of this Bremen luxury fashion brand are called “BRANDNEST”. In addition to the Sylt Brandnest, there is also one at Kirn in Germany’s Hunsrück region. There, Borgward maintains its own independent German manufacturing facility within a co-production space at Braun GmbH. Here, there’s a joint and deliberate reliance on German craftsmanship and its preservation.
The products of the Bremen luxury label are manufactured here on the smallest possible scale using the finest leathers and hides and robust trimmings made of buffalo leather. At the same time, both the design, the leather selection and the collection are created in Borgward’s own establishment. The interior of the bags is always in Borgward red and this thus maintains the link to the history of the car brand.
